Troubleshooting Lag, Crashes, and FPS Drops
If you're experiencing lag, game crashes, or low frame rates (FPS), try the following steps to improve performance:
Close Background Apps
Before launching Critical Ops, close other apps running in the background. These can consume memory and reduce performance.
Disable Battery-Saving Features
Battery-saving modes may limit device performance. Make sure any power-saving settings are turned off while playing.
Check Your Connection
Ensure you have a stable internet connection—Wi-Fi is recommended over mobile data. Lag, crashes, and rubberbanding can occur on unstable or weak connections.
Adjust In-Game Graphics Settings
If FPS drops are consistent, lower the game’s graphic settings in the options menu. This can help older or lower-end devices run more smoothly.
Avoid Overheating
If your device feels hot to the touch, it may be throttling performance to cool down. Let it rest, and avoid playing while charging.
Keep Your Software Updated
Make sure your device is running the latest version of iOS or Android.
Free Up Storage
Critical Ops needs free space to run smoothly. Make sure your device has enough internal storage available. Note: space on SD cards won’t help improve performance.
Additional Steps If Issues Persist:
- Reinstall the game.
- Clearing the game’s cache can help with unexpected performance issues or crashes. Here’s how:
- Navigate to your device Settings > Apps > Critical Ops > Tap Storage and then Clear Cache
- Restart your router or modem. If using mobile data, switch Airplane Mode on and off.
- Restart your device.
