Overview

Critical Ops is now officially available on Google Play Games for PC. This is the only officially supported method to play Critical Ops on a desktop computer.

Known Limitations & Issues

Framerate Capped at 60 FPS

  • Google Play Games for PC has a platform-wide 60 FPS limit (set by Google, not Critical Ops)
  • Recommended: Set your framerate to 60 FPS in both the game settings AND Google Play Games PC settings
  • Selecting higher framerates may cause performance issues or unexpected behavior

Mouse Input Lag

  • Some mouse input lag may be noticeable compared to native PC games
  • This is a technical limitation of how Google Play Games for PC emulates Android
  • Our team is actively working to minimize input delay where possible

Beta Status

  • Google Play Games for PC is still in beta
  • Players may encounter performance or compatibility issues
  • The platform is only available in certain regions

Common Questions

Q: Can I use my iOS account on PC?

A: Yes, but you must first link your account to Facebook. Google Play Games for PC only supports Google and Facebook logins. Apple ID and Game Center are not available on the PC platform.

Note: Google login is not available on iOS devices, so Facebook is the only cross-platform option for iOS players.

Q: Can I use other Android emulators like BlueStacks or NoxPlayer?

A: No. All third-party Android emulators are strictly prohibited under our Terms of Service. Using any emulator other than Google Play Games for PC will result in a permanent account ban.

Q: I was banned for using an emulator before this announcement. Can I get unbanned?

A: No. Bans issued for using unsupported third-party platforms will not be removed, as these platforms have always been in violation of our Terms of Service.

Q: Will my progress transfer between mobile and PC?

A: Yes, as long as you use the same account (Google or Facebook) on both platforms, your progress will sync automatically.

Q: I signed up for beta on Android. Does this affect my mobile game?

A: Yes. If you sign up for the beta program using an Android device, your mobile version will also be enrolled in the beta program. To return to live servers, follow the instructions in this article.

Q: Why is the framerate limited to 60 FPS?

A: This is a platform limitation set by Google for all games on Google Play Games for PC, not a Critical Ops-specific restriction.

Q: The game isn't launching or running correctly. What should I check?

A: Verify the following:

  • CPU virtualization is enabled in the BIOS
  • You're signed up as a beta tester
  • You're using the same Google account for beta signup and Google Play Games for PC
  • Your framerate is set to 60 FPS in both game and platform settings
  • Your system meets the Google Play Games for PC minimum requirements

Policy Reminder
